The Institute for Jewish Policy Research is the only independent organisation in the UK specialising in researching the state of contemporary Jewish life in the UK and across Europe. Our research details who Jews are - how they live their lives, and their prospects, hopes and concerns - and is used widely by organisations ranging from major multinational bodies, such as the European Commission and United Nations, to local synagogues and Jewish schools.

Biography

Alina Bricman is the Director of EU Affairs of the Jewish advocacy and service organization B'nai B'rith International. Since its founding in 1843, B'nai B'rith has been dedicated to safeguarding Jewish life, promoting intergroup understanding and improving quality of life world-wide through its humanitarian efforts. Based in Brussels, Alina coordinates B'nai B'rith's work with the European Union institutions as well as civil society and industry experts to tackle antisemitism, strengthen EU-Israel relations and promote Holocaust remembrance. She is a member of Romania's delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.

Alina was the President of the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS) between 2017-2019. She studied Political Science at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies in Bucharest and at the Central European University in Budapest.

Established in 1843, B'nai B'rith International is a Jewish advocacy and service organization committed to safeguarding Jewish life, tackling antisemitism, advancing peace and equality for Israel, providing safe and affordable housing for low-income seniors, championing diversity and helping communities in crisis. Through engagement with the United Nations, European Union institutions, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, the Organization of American States, governments, and other relevant stakeholders, we promote human dignity and combat all forms of discrimination. B'nai B'rith pursues both legislative and non-legislative tools to safeguard Jewish life and build more tolerant, inclusive societies. The B'nai B'rith Office of European Union Affairs advances these objectives in Brussels.

Biography

Since 2013, Marion Bunan is the General Secretary of the Museum of Jewish Art and History (mahJ) in Paris. She also manages the Pro mahJ foundation. She holds a postgraduate degree in cultural heritage law from the University of Paris-Sud. She worked as a parliamentary assistant before taking on legal responsibilities at the Institut National de Recherches Archéologiques Préventives.

The Museum of Jewish Art and History (mahJ) is a museum created by the City of Paris and the Ministry of Culture. Since 1998, it has presented, through its collections, two thousand years of culture of Jewish communities in France and Europe and their integration into society, in a secular approach. It organizes temporary exhibitions on artists whose works and careers have been influenced by Judaism, on great figures of Jewish history, etc. The museum has an active educational policy, a rich cultural program and the production of numerous events. The mahJ is a place of reference for questions of living together, citizenship and the fight against prejudice and discrimination. It plays a major educational role by enabling teachers and students to approach Judaism as a fact of civilization.
