Biography

Mrs. Landman has 10 years of professional experience in the field of security.

The BESC employs her as the head of the antisemitism dpt, research and analysis dpt, and security awareness department where she created and implemented a program to enhance and improve the awareness of the Jewish community in Belgium.

The program includes training for adults and children. She has trained several staff members of the Ministry of Interior and Justice in Belgium.

Mrs. Landman holds a Master's degree in political science from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), 2 certificates CAGEP & CRIAC from UCL, 1 certificate in crisis and disaster management from the University of Tel Aviv, and 1 certificate from Solvay Business school in Business Management.

BESC (Bureau Executif de Sécurité Communautaire) is a charity that protects Belgian Jews from antisemitism and related threats. BESC has over 90 full and part-time staff and volunteers based in Brussels. BESC provides security advice and training for Jewish communal organizations, schools, and synagogues. BESC secures over 100 Jewish communal buildings and approximately 500 communal events every year. BESC's mission is to facilitate Jewish life by protecting Jews from the dangers of antisemitism, and antisemitic terrorism in particular. Help those who are victims of antisemitic hatred, harassment or bias. Promote research into racism, antisemitism and extremism; and to use this research for the benefit of both the Jewish community and society in general.

born in Essen 1957, worked as a teacher; member of the Green Party; involved in local politics since 1989; Member of the Northrhine-Westphalian Parliament 1995-2017, e.g. head of the Parliamentary Group of the Green Party; deputy head of the German - Israelian Parliamentary Group; Vice-Prime Minister and Minister for Education and Further Education 2010 - 2017; as President of the Standing Conference of Education and Culture (KMK) promoted decisions and policy paper an remembrance culture for schools in Germany.

Always committed to remembrance culture because of the Nazi-Terror and Shoah as well as human rights. Various commitments in civil society organizations like Yad Vashem Germany, the Museum Center for Persecuted Arts in Solingen. Member of the General Assembly and board of the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation.

Our Organization was founded in order to prepare and organize the festival year 2021: 1700 Years of Jewish Live in Germany. This – with more than 2.400 projects and events has turned our an overwhelming success: due to support and public finances by various institutions (Federal and Länder-governments, local authorities...) and a tremendous commitment by the civil society: the jewish communities, churches, schools, academies, museums, and, and, and. – see <a href="http://www.2021jlid.de">www.2021jlid.de</a> I could give a short input about the main aims of the festival year #2021JLID; the range of projects, and: most of all the ideas, how the important results can be transformed into the regular programs of educational, cultural work and projects.
